A visit from KidsPlusPlus

Last week, the Dog Assist yard was filled with laughter, questions, and… “Aww!” We were visited by the kids from our friends at Kidsplusplus's camp, and their curiosity was contagious.Together, we talked about how to meet a dog, where we can touch them to make them feel safe, and which areas are best to avoid. We discussed emotions—our own and the animals'—and how to read and respect them. Then we went out to the yard, where our alpacas greeted us with elegance and gentleness. We told the kids about the alpacas' lives and their roles, and the children rewarded them with food, pets, and big smiles. We like to believe that beyond the beautiful memories, the children went home with an important lesson about respect, empathy, and the courage to ask questions.
Thank you, Kidsplusplus, for the visit! We welcome you back anytime for more stories… and to feed some more alpacas. Maybe next time we'll even have time to do some trails!
